Pool Services Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions

By clicking “I Agree”, you are agreeing to the following conditions and are aware of all recommendations. TERMS AND AGREEMENTS:

MINIMUM CHARGE AGREEMENT: If CJPM arrives on site and is unable to properly complete the service because of a fault of the owner (i.e. no access to power, pool is leaking, etc), there will be a minimum service visit charge of $100 on top of the full price.

ADDITIONAL LABOR AND PARTS AGREEMENT: Any additional work will cost extra. All work will be completed on a time and material basis. If CJPM determines that labor must be completed prior to opening/service/closing (i.e. repair a pipe, vacuum leaves out of pool, etc), labor will be billed at appropriate rates based on scope of work. If there are any parts that are deemed unacceptable (i.e. cracked fittings, safety cover deck fasteners), CJPM will replace those parts and add that price onto the final invoice (will not be included in any promotions or discounts). CJPM will attempt to contact the owner before replacing parts or conducting labor but if the owner cannot be reached, CJPM will conduct the labor or replace the parts that they deem necessary to properly open/service/winterize the pool.

OPENING RECOMMENDATIONS: Water Chemistry – Post Opening: Your pool’s water chemistry should be tested and balanced at least once per day after opening and throughout summer. While properly maintained water chemistry does not guarantee clear pool water, it will reduce the likelihood that the water will turn green and it will help to prevent scaling. CJPM IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ALGAE GROWTH OR CEMENT/PLASTER STAINING THAT OCCURS. If your pool water starts turning green or you notice algae growth beginning, schedule a service call as soon as possible so that the condition can be treated promptly. Chlorine levels should be kept between 2.0 and 3.0. Alkaline levels should be maintained between 80-120ppm. Calcium hardness levels should be maintained between 200ppm and 400ppm. pH levels should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.8.

ACID WASHING: Acid washing involves the draining of the pool and application of high-powered acids to plaster or gunite pools in order to remove layers of paint or stains. When calcium or magnesium scale or other staining exists, the degree of acid treatment necessary to effect removal is possible to be such that the plaster or painted finish will be affected. CJPM SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE PLASTER OR PAINTED FINISH THAT MAY BE CAUSED BY ACID WASH PROCESS.

WINTER RECOMMENDATIONS: We recommend that you take the following steps to minimize the chance that your pool will need to be drained or repaired in the spring.
Water Chemistry – Pre Winterizing: CJPM will assume all chemical levels are balanced upon arrival. CJPM will not be checking any chemical levels, (i.e chlorine, pH, calcium, alkalinity) before winterizing.
Water Chemistry – Post Winterizing: Your pool’s water chemistry should be tested and balanced at least once per month after winterization. While properly maintained water chemistry does not guarantee clear pool water in the spring, it will reduce the likelihood that the water will turn green and it will help to prevent scaling. CJPM IS NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ALGAE GROWTH OR CEMENT/PLASTER STAINING THAT OCCURS. Chlorine levels need to be kept between 1.0 and 1.5 in pools with a solid cover. Chlorine levels should be kept between 2.0 and 3.0. Alkaline levels should be maintained between 80-120ppm. Calcium hardness levels should be maintained between 200ppm and 400ppm. pH levels should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.8.
POOL COVER RECOMMENDATIONS: If you have a mesh cover, or if your pool is not covered, we recommend that you continue weekly service until the leaves have stopped falling or close your pool later in the fall and open it earlier in the spring. Some people recommend installing an inexpensive solid vinyl cover below your mesh cover. The solid cover will keep silt and dirt from getting into the pool and it will prevent the sun from stimulating algae growth. (Be sure to place a cover pump on the solid cover to keep water from accumulating on it.) We also STRONGLY recommend that all pool owners use safety covers that are securely fastened to the deck. The use of water bags to hold on a pool cover, especially for an in-ground pool, is extremely dangerous. CJPM SHALL HAVE NO LIABILITY FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE THAT OCCURS IN CONNECTION TO ANY POOL COVERS, ESPECIALLY ONE’S HELD ON WITH WEIGHTS OR WATER BAGS.
ALGAE PREVENTION: If your pool water starts turning green or you notice algae growth beginning, schedule a service call as soon as possible so that the condition can be treated promptly.
WINTER PUMP: For pool owners with a mesh or porous pool cover, it is strongly recommended that you install a cover pump or sump pump under your pool cover to regulate the pool water level over the winter. Precipitation after winterization will raise the water level and can cause significant damage to tiles, liners, pipes, skimmers, etc. in the winter months. For pool owners with solid covers, a pool cover pump is recommended to reduce and regulate the amount of water that collects on top of the cover. Be sure to read the directions for you pump carefully before installing and don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance.

LIABILITY: DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF TEMPERATURES, WEATHER CONDITIONS, VANDALISM, SYSTEM IRREGULARITIES, AND THE AMOUNT OF WATER THE SOIL IS HOLDING, CJPM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO THE HOMEOWNER’S POOL. THIS WOULD INCLUDE, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO, THE POOL MOVING FROM ITS ORIGINAL PLACEMENT, CRACKING OF THE POOL INTERIOR, LINER DAMAGE, DECK DAMAGE, PIPING DAMAGE, PUMPING SYSTEMS DAMAGE, TILE DAMAGE, FILTER SYSTEM DAMAGE, POOL TIMER RELATED DAMAGE OR ANY OTHER FIXTURE RELATED TO THE POOL, CAUSED BY MOISTURE, EARTH SHIFTING, HYDROSTATIC WATER PRESSURE, FREEZING, VANDALISM, TAMPERING OR LIKEWISE. CJPM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR TEARING OF COVERS DUE TO WINTER DAMAGE OR NORMAL WEAR OR AGE. THIS CONTRACT WILL ALSO SERVE AS NOTICE TO THE OWNER THAT WHILE WE ARE ON SITE OR WHILE WE HAVE ANY EQUIPMENT ON SITE, ALL PERSONS NOT EMPLOYED BY CJPM MUST STAY AWAY FROM THE POOL AREA, AS WELL AS ALL EQUIPMENT OR CHEMICALS. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES OR LOSS OF LIFE THAT OCCURS TO ANYONE WHO GOES IN OR NEAR THE POOL AREA WHILE WE ARE CONDUCTING WORK. THIS PERTAINS TO TIMES WHEN WE ARE PHYSICALLY ON SITE AND ALSO TO ANY EQUIPMENT THAT WE HAVE LEFT ON SITE. CJPM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY OR LOSS OF LIFE THAT OCCURS IN CONNECTION TO ANY POOL(S), ANY PARTS RELATED TO SAID POOL(S) OR ANY POOL CHEMICALS AT ANY TIME. CENTRAL JERSEY POOL MANAGEMENT HAS NO DUTIES OR OBLIGATIONS BEYOND THOSE CONTAINED IN THIS PROPOSAL, AND WE ARE NOT BOUND BY ANY TERMS OR CONDITIONS NOT CONTAINED IN THIS PROPOSAL, UNLESS SET FORTH IN A SUBCONTRACT AGREEMENT ACCEPTABLE TO US AND SIGNED BY US. IF WE ARE DIRECTED TO PROCEED WITH OUR WORK AND NO SUBCONTRACT AGREEMENT IS SIGNED BY US, THE ONLY TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING OUR WORK ARE THOSE CONTAINED IN THIS PROPOSAL. CJPM IS NOT LIABLE IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM, FOR ANY INJURY AND/OR LOSS OF LIFE THAT OCCURS IN CONNECTION TO THE SWIMMING POOL.

I hereby authorize CJPM to complete all work as noted above and I agree to all conditions as stated above.
